LSM6DSO 6-Axis IMU Board
Designed a 6-axis IMU PCB in Altium Designer for UBC Thunderbots' RoboCup SSL robots, integrating power decoupling, communication interfaces, and dedicated test points.
Electrical Engineering Student / Surrey, BC
Electrical Engineering (Biomedical Option) student at UBC and Electrical Design Lead on UBC Thunderbots. I work across Altium schematic capture, multilayer PCB layout, embedded C/C++, and bench validation with oscilloscopes and multimeters — designing hardware that has to work the first time.
Selected work
Designed a 6-axis IMU PCB in Altium Designer for UBC Thunderbots' RoboCup SSL robots, integrating power decoupling, communication interfaces, and dedicated test points.
Developed a backplane board routing power and SPI communication between power boards, motor-driver boards, and a Raspberry Pi across the robot stack.
Designed a high-voltage feedback architecture for isolated capacitor-voltage monitoring with a reinforced isolation amplifier, differential filtering, and regulated power stages.
Built a mobile robot with ATmega and EFM8 microcontrollers, motor-control circuitry, wireless communication, and an electromagnet, with embedded C coordinating all subsystems.
Built an Arduino-based automated menstrual product dispenser in an overnight hackathon, with C++ firmware for hardware control and a web inventory interface to track availability.
Coordinated procurement and fabrication for 3+ PCB assemblies, managing bills of materials and revision documentation from schematic through to assembled boards.
Capabilities
Experience
Develop autonomous soccer robots for the international RoboCup Small Size League, integrating custom PCBs, motor control, and embedded systems. Designed a 6-axis IMU board and a power/SPI backplane in Altium, and coordinated fabrication of 3+ PCB assemblies.
Designed a 240 V isolated capacitor-voltage feedback architecture with a reinforced isolation amplifier, differential filtering, and regulated power stages. Validated hardware through calculation, simulation, and bench testing with oscilloscope and multimeter.
Led industry outreach to 50+ companies to secure career and networking opportunities for electrical and computer engineering students.
